I've Always Been THAT Girl

I am not afraid to admit that I have always been that girl...

that girl that relies heavily on my significant other for happiness, support and confidence.

I would take their words and actions straight to heart and either crumble to the ground or ignite the fire in my soul. There is no shame in this, but I have recently learned a lot.

With little control over the obstacles I will face in my future I was striving to plan out my life down to the very age I get married and have children. Am I crazy? Yes. Are most girls also crazy? Yes.

I had planned it all out.

One thing I never considered was what if my significant other doesn't feel the same. What if their future looks a lot different than mine and they need me in their plans as much as I need them...this goes for friendships as well.

THIS IS WHERE I HAD MY AHA MOMENT.

Putting this reliance on another person not only creates pressure but it also creates more opportunity for heartbreak. The BEST way to solve this problem is rely on yourself and yourself only.

I have had this crazy realization that I AM THE LOVE OF MY LIFE.

I am my own perfect partner. If there is something I can't stand, I won't do it. If there is something I love I will do it all the time. I will constantly do things to boost my confidence and make myself happy. Making myself my priority and relying on myself allows me to be done tolerating the issues I simply do not have time for and getting rid of the negative crap that I do not need.

There is nothing more beautiful than confidence and when you can truly say you love yourself and don't need anyone else, you are confident.

There are people, whether they are family, friends, or partners that will fall in love with your soul. The good the bad the ugly. They will fall in love with the way you love yourself and become the missing piece to your puzzle.

Relationships of any kind should be easy, effortless and comfortable. But they are not always this way and that is reality. Our relationship with ourselves is one that will never fade away. So cherish it. Put your energy and time into loving yourself and realizing your self worth. You are amazing and someone out there loves your soul.
